This wine is made from sustainably-grown Sauvignon Blanc grapes, hand harvested from our estate vineyard in Te Muna Road, Martinborough.
The grapes were whole-bunch pressed with only short skin contact. The juice was then fermented at cooler temperatures in both stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and varietal character of Sauvignon Blanc, and French oak barriques to provide complexity and mid palate weight. The wines were prevented from going through the secondary Malolactic Fermentation to preserve the purity of the acid. The wine was left unfined and sterile filtered before bottling.
Lifted fragrant aromas of lime blossom, mango, passionfruit, and fresh tropical fruits, overlaid with the riper overtone of green nettle.
Purity is key with this wine, chalky acid drives through the palate. The mid palate is rich, providing a balance all the way through to the slightly textured finish. This adds to the length of the wine.
