Julicher Estate Chardonnay 2014
Viticulture - This Chardonnay is made from the combined crop of two different clones of different age harvested from our Te Muna Road vineyard.
Winemaking - The hand picked grapes were whole-bunch pressed without skin contact. Part of the juice was pressed straight to barrels for fermentation and the rest was cold-settled and then racked to old French barrels. After fermentation the wine was aged on lees for 10 months and underwent partial malolactic fermentation. Minimal ning and sterile ltering before bottling.
Colour - Golden straw.
Aroma - Creamy, toasty and slightly smoky with aromas of grapefruit and lemon
Palate - Savoury and creamy texture with underlying flavours of peach and passionfruit. Rich,elegant and smooth with a long finish.
Cellaring Potential - For current drinking, but will age gracefully. Serve chilled.
